Going forward we intend to very much limit the number of Members so that we can offer their potential customers a high degree of certainty so that, when choosing a remover registered with Scottish Guild Of Removers, they can look forward to receiving a top notch service.

SCOTTISH GUILD OF REMOVERS BACKGROUND

In the early 2000, The National Guild Of Removers & Storers Ltd (NGRS) was approached by a group of Scottish removal businesses that were looking for a unique selling point, namely a trade association with a Scottish National identity, that would help them promote their services in Scotland. That led to the incorporation of The Scottish Guild Of Removers Ltd in 2004. Unfortunately the original removers, that approached NGRS to form The Scottish Guild, were unable to agree amongst themselves on financing, marketing strategies, and much else. As a result the project was shelved although The Scottish Guild Of Removers Ltd remained listed at Companies House as “active” and dormant company accounts have been filed annually.

In 2020 NGRS approached its Scottish Members and offered to provide finance as well as all else that was needed to launch and then continue to operate The Scottish Guild Of Removers Ltd. The marketing benefits of a Scottish trade association comprising only of Scottish removal businesses operating primarily in Scotland, were clear to all concerned. It was subsequently agreed that The Scottish Guild Of Removers would be run with the help of an advisory panel comprising of Scottish removal businesses that wanted to be Members.
